Who is Susan?
Upon graduating from Beauty School in Dublin in 1979, Susan managed the first ever dedicated Nail Bar in Cork City in The Savoy.
Following post-graduate studies in 1981, Susan earned a wealth of knowledge at the renowned Thalgo Institute in Paris before returning to Cork to open the first Susan Ryan Beauty Clinic in Cross Street.
With a passionate vocation to mentor and inspire the beauty therapists of the future, just two years after opening her first salon, Susan developed and launched The Cork College of Beauty Therapy.
35 years later, there is hardly a salon in Cork without a graduate of The Cork College of Beauty Therapy on their staff. With a success rate of over 90%, students enjoy rewarding careers throughout the beauty industry with the reputation of the College attracting students from all over Ireland and further afield.
The success of Susan’s salon has seen her move from Cross Street to The Queen’s Old Castle Shopping Centre and then to the South Main Street, where in her spacious salon at number 85, she has introduced a whole new range of services that are utilised by clients from all over Ireland.
In keeping with her policy of always being at the cutting edge of her profession, Susan and her staff are fully trained in the latest developments in Beauty, including Spa and Laser treatments, bringing real workplace experience as well as technical expertise to their clientele.
Susan and her staff hold highly respected qualifications awarded by the three major beauty industry standards organisations throughout the world - CIDESCO, CIBTAC and ITEC.
Providing a complete service for her clients, Susan has qualified in nutrition, anatomy and physiology, which enables her to advise on exercise and weight control with authority. Respected and admired by fellow professionals, Susan can call upon further expertise through her enviable network of professional contacts throughout the world.
Commissioned regularly by the media, working often with RTÉ Radio & Television and TV3 in Ireland, Susan’s expertise of opinion has been sought abroad too whilst also showcasing her talents in many magazines and newspapers including ‘Hello’.
Experienced in theatrical make-up, as well as for fashion and advertising shoots, Susan even appears as an impartial expert witness in court proceedings involving cosmetic treatment disputes.
